As a general rule we think it’s best not to listen to rumours of course, especially those that might hint that our favourite, most precious celebs may possibly have had - shock, horror! - a little helping hand in the cosmetic surgery department!

Gwen Stefani

Aw, look at lovely Gwen Stefani with her sparkly bits and nice blue hair. She looks the picture of innocence at the 1998 MTV Music Awards…

It’s possible that her eyes look a little wider perhaps, and maybe even her nose a little straighter? If she has had any surgery then it’s certainly been kept to a minimum, but to great effect! Kenny Rogers

Here’s Kenny Rogers in 1997, looking happy and comfortable in his face which, for a man of 50+ years, just goes to show he’s wearing well…

hold on though. Ten years later and here’s Kenny Rogers at the CMT Awards and - is it just us, or has something changed somewhere along the line? There’s something about his eyes, and maybe his forehead that just looks a bit… hmm. We can’t seem to put our finger on it, can you?

Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham, the ‘Posh’ Spice Girl and professional football WAG, with her fantastic cheekbones has always been on the ‘petite’ side, physically speaking - here she is at the VH1 Vogue Fashion awards in 2000…

… fast forward to last year and - whoa there Victoria! The cheekbones are still as prominent as ever, but there’s a couple of other feminine attributes that we can’t help but notice have a little more ‘presence’ than we’d previously observed!

Janet Jackson

Janet Jackson in her twenties, in 1985. You can really see the family resemblance to her somewhat more famous brother at the time can’t you? Those ‘come hither’ doe-eyes, the beautiful softness of her features – maybe it gave something for Michael to aspire to

Now, Janet still looks wonderful of course. There’s no doubt about that. But here she is last year - 23 years later in fact - and, well, she STILL looks like she’s in her twenties! Perhaps her nose may have been ‘on a diet’ or something as it seems, to us at least, to have lost a bit of weight somewhere along the line.

Clint Eastwood

Here’s Clint Eastwood at the Academy awards in 2005, looking fantastic for his age, and still going strong. Although perhaps after years spent narrowing his eyes at people during his prolific film career we seem to have all but lost sight of them!

Ah, that’s better Clint. Spotted whilst attending Fouquet’s in Paris this February at the Cannes Film Festival President’s Tribute to the great man himself, we somehow seem to be able to get a much improved view of his pupils once again.

Donatella Versace

More recently, however, something sure seems to have changed about those previously rugged charms. We love you Mickey but where did your side-burns go? Don’t worry, if we find them we’ll send them back to you.

Lil Kim. Here she is in 2003 looking just fantastic, totally comfortable in her skin, as ‘all woman’ as ever and helping to remind people that curves are cute and that women are supposed to have a figure, right? Right!

A couple of months ago at the ‘Faces of Fashion Week’ in New York, Lil Kim turns up, with her famously fullsome figure intact and - hey, hang on a minute - that’s Lil Kim?! Really? You’re sure? No way, you ask her…

Do you remember Pete Burns from ‘Dead or Alive’? He did that song that you’ve danced to hundreds of times at nearly every party you’ve ever been to ‘You spin me right round baby, right round, like a record baby, right round etc.’ This is Pete around the time of his peak of fame in the eighties. He was a good looking fella with big hair, loads of make-up and a great voice with a catchy song too, all the right ingredients for the perfect 80’s pop star…

… Um, yes, this is Pete Burns too. Honestly, we’re not making it up. It’s just a more recent photo that’s all.

Jocelyn Wildenstein

Now, it’s no secret to anyone in the world that Jocelyn Wildenstein has ‘has some work done’. But we just thought we’d include her here as a sort of ‘reference point’ really. Take note, Pete Burns.

Look at Golden-haired Beyonce Knowles - having her hair dyed and straighted, her lips redused and her nose narrowed she looks more like a Barbie doll, than an Black RNB singer. But let’s face it - her plastic surgeon did a great job, oops.. I mean a great nose job. Beyonce’s face looks very natural, as if she was born with that nose.

Jennifer Lopez has stepped back into the public eye and looks different. There are not many new pictures of her up close yet, but just wait until they surface. Her face looks ‘off’ to me, especially around her eyes. It is as if the top part of her fact has been pulled up. Her cheeks also look weirdly gaunt, a first for her.
