Eva Longoria Parker Accepts 0,000 Donation from AT&T to Benefit PADRES Contra El Cáncer

PADRES Contra El Cáncer (PADRES) national spokeswoman Eva Longoria Parker accepted a 0,000 donation from AT&T to benefit the organization’s work in improving the quality of life for Latino children with cancer and their families, Burbank, California, February 28, 2009.

“We are extremely grateful for AT&T’s generosity and commitment to PADRES and the Latino community,” said Longoria Parker, co-star of ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” and PADRES national spokeswoman. “The money AT&T raised will help us continue supporting families coping with the devastating effects of childhood cancer.”

The donation is the result of AT&T’s third annual campaign, which consisted of a fundraising effort to increase awareness of childhood cancer and collected donations from customers at more than 130 retail stores in the Greater Los Angeles area. Customers who purchased AT&T Advanced TV and wireless services received 0 cash back and were encouraged to donate a portion of those savings to PADRES.

Cancer affects approximately 1,500 children annually in California; nearly 50 percent of those children are Latino and remains one of the leading causes of death among children under 15 years old; second only to accidents in most age groups.

According to his blog, P Stump, as I like to call him, will be co-hosting a pre-grammy event. What kind of event? I have no earthly idea.
The headline just reads “Patrick to Co-host Pre-Grammy”. ..Yep. That’s it. I’m serious. Don’t believe me? take a look.
Will it be a show? A party? An orgy? I have no idea, all I know is Patrick will be there and that means I need tickets. Hopefully someone more “in-the-know” than I am will find out!

Patrick Stump reviews “200 Million Thousand” in Rolling Stone

It’s ironic when the Black Lips sing that they’re “trapped in a basement” here. Ten years ago, this Atlanta band’s purposefully sloppy “flower punk” would have been unjustly confined to basement shows; now it could fit in a Zach Braff film. The Lips’ psychedelic and garage heroes loom large: “Big Black Baby Jesus of Today” sounds distractingly like the 13th Floor Elevators, and “Drugs” is all about the New York Dolls. This smart if self-conscious album makes it clear who the Lips would like to be, but it’s hard to tell who they really are.

I love this band so much. Inara George has a gorgeous voice and a great sense of humor in lyrics, while Greg Kurstin is one of my favorite producers/songwriters/arrangers… so much understated class. An electronic inflected Burt Bacharach for post-Jon Brion world.. but a billion times more fun.

Kanye West - 808s & Heartbreaks
Even I’m getting sick of how much I talk about Kanye in interviews. He’s just one of the only dudes on Top 40 radio doing it the right way.

Fans stunned by Rihanna-Chris Brown reconciliation

Fans of singers Chris Brown and Rihanna expressed dismay on Saturday at reports the couple had reunited just three weeks after Brown was alleged to have assaulted her.Celebrity magazines People and Us Weekly said that the R&B stars were spending time together at the Miami home of hip hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs — and that Rihanna’s father was supporting her decision.

"I love my daughter with whatever road she takes. I’m behind her win or lose. I will be supportive. If that’s the road she wants to choose, I’m behind her," Rihanna’s dad Ronald Fenty told Us Weekly from his Barbados home.

Fans could scarcely believe the news that came a week after a picture, showing the 21-year-old "Umbrella" singer with bruises to her face and swollen lips, was leaked on the Internet.

"All the abusive men are celebrating," Highroller33138 wrote in a posting on the MTV website. "It sets a terrible example for women everywhere. Rihanna disappointed me."

"Stupid, really stupid. … I hate women like this," wrote ladyofthelake in a posting on TVguide.com

On Friday People quoted an unidentified source saying the couple, who had been dating for about a year, were back together.
"They care for each other. While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves," the source told People.

Representatives of Brown, 19, a clean-cut teen idol whose hits include "Run It!", declined comment on the reports. Rihanna’s publicist did not return calls seeking comment.

Los Angeles prosecutors have yet to decide whether to file charges against Brown after his arrest on February 8 on suspicion of making criminal threats against a woman.

The alleged assault on the eve of the Grammy Awards caused both stars to cancel their scheduled appearances. Brown issued a statement a week after the incident saying he was "sorry and saddened" and seeking counseling.

After learning that Rihanna and Chris Brown had gotten back together, we were shocked and found ourselves asking lots of questions…why would Rihanna do this? Does she care about the example she’s setting for the millions of battered women out there? Why does her father support her decision?

Rihanna still hasn’t spoken about the incident, and we’re beginning to wonder if she ever will. It’s already been established that the singer will not press charges, but is she really going to be able to maintain a “normal” relationship with the man who put her in the hospital?

Do you think Chris will do this again? And will Rihanna continue to stand by her man, even though he seems dangerous and capable of doing far worse things to her?
