U2 rocker Bono fears his teenage children find him embarrassing, after he overheard his eldest daughter called him "boring" during a dinner with superstar couple Beyonce and Jay-Z.

The 48-year-old singer, who has two daughters - Jordan, 19, and Memphis, 17 - with wife Alison Hewson, admits he suffers the same fate as most parents.

And the teens’ opinions became clear when he overheard Jordan talking about her dad while the family were entertaining celebrity guests at their holiday home in the south of France.

He says, "I went in to get some wine out of the fridge and I heard her talking to her friends, because she loves Jay-Z and Beyonce.

"I heard her saying, ‘He’s probably boring their a***s off talking about Africa ‘. And, actually, I think I was at the time."

And Bono concedes it’s not the first time his antics have annoyed the youngsters, adding, "There was a funny moment on the last tour when there were formal objections by our kids to some of the music that was being played at the aftershow party."

Did you expect the pilot to be as popular as it was?
“I had no idea. As we were making it, people were saying it’s good but I watched a rough cut on the laptop and at the time I thought it was a bit dead! For me the first fifteen minutes of the pilot were not really happening, but then suddenly it kicked in and I was like ‘woah!’. I showed it to people and they were gripped. But no, no idea it would do so well. We hoped. Everyone was really positive and excited by it.”

How are werewolves regarded by vampires? George and Mitchell seem to get on well.
“The way it works in supernatural hierarchy, werewolves are quite low down on the list. Vampires attack werewolves and in the show I keep getting beaten up by vampires. I met Mitchell when he saved me from being beaten up by vampires, and then he took me in. We formed a bond because he doesn’t want to kill people any more and I’m in a position where I don’t want to do that either but can’t control it.”

Does [George the tragic werewolf] ever want to just kill himself? Surely that would be the easiest solution.
“Yeah, but he’s stronger than that and he’s quite religious, which is what is stopping him. Sometimes he’s absolutely been suicidal. I think that’s why his friendships with Annie [the tragic ghost] and Mitchell [the tragic vampire] are so important because they’re keeping him going. He just constantly wishes life was different - but as the series goes on he accepts it more and finds the benefits of it.”

You strip off quite a lot in the show. Are you comfortable with that?
“Do I enjoy being naked in the woods with people watching? No, not really. Your pride just goes out the window. It’s quite cold in the woods in Bristol, so being a male, that was not beneficial. I didn’t realise last year on the pilot how naked I was going to be - it seemed like every ten minutes they were like ‘can you just take your pants off?’ This year my agent drew up a nudity clause but I don’t think that’s been followed!”

You go completely naked then? They don’t try to cover you up?
“You see my arse a lot and a lot of me cupping my balls. Because I’m playing a Jew and I’m not actually Jewish, I think [showing everything] would give it away. I’m not going to go that far for method!”

Liza Minnelli is done with marriage forever. “It’s too hard on any man to be married to a woman like me,” Liza told Parade magazine’s Sunday issue.

The Broadway showstopper said one thing that has kept her from finding lasting love is her fame. Another, is her commitment to the fans. “Yes, a famous woman — with all that goes with it… No matter how successful the man is, it’s hard for him to take,” she said. “And maybe it’s politically incorrect to say, but — I get it. I’m not going to refuse that autograph. I’m not going to deny that photographer. I certainly won’t stop touring. It’s too hard on any man.”

While she may be done with holy matrimony, Liza will not be stepping down from the stage any time soon. I’m a dancer. I have to move,” she said. “Also, I don’t think I’d look that good standing still in a beaded gown.”

Though she never had children, Liza told Parade she has no regrets. “I am a wonderful — I hope! — godmother and aunt to the children in my life,” Liza said. “And I work a lot with brain-damaged children. Would those relationships be what they are now were I raising my own children? The fact is, I wanted children. I couldn’t have them. That’s how it turned out.”
