Katy Perry: ‘I’ll Never Be as Famous as Madonna’

Katy Perry is adamant she’ll never be as famous as Madonna.

The singer - who shot to fame with her catchy single I Kissed a Girl - says she’d love to be as successful the Holiday hitmaker, but doesn’t think she will able to achieve it.

She says, "I think those days of achieving that level are over. The media is bringing everybody down."

Katy - who recently split from Gym Class Heroes rocker Travis McCoy - says she is coping with the public interest in her private life and being followed by paparazzi.

She adds, "I don’t ever do anything to try and bring it upon myself.

"There are ten thousand other restaurants besides the Ivy.

"I’m not obsessed with getting my picture taken. You know there’s just so much taken out of context. There’s so much nit-picking. I turned my data alerts off."
