Dropping the latest celebrity news

Selena Gomez Teen Hollywood interview excerpts:

Did you have trouble fitting in at school?
"Absolutely. It’s a big deal trying to fit in and that’s all that matters in a teen’s world is being able to fit in at school or make sure you are in with the in crowd or wanting to do this or that and that’s when you start to lose yourself.

When I was younger, I wanted to be a cheerleader. You go through those phases but I wouldn’t tell anyone to not go through that because you learn from them. I always say ‘be the best you can be. Focus more on school’ but it’s hard."

Did you hang out with Joey King before you filmed or between shots?
"I spent a lot of time with Joey, not only because I wanted to get to know her because we were playing sisters but I ended up becoming a great friend with a 9 year old!

She knows everything about me now. Kids see black and white and they’re just fearless. They either say ‘yes’ or ‘no’. I think you lose that when you get older with getting heartbreaks and getting trampled on. Your guard goes up and you start overanalyzing things too much. That’s what I appreciated about Joey, she just didn’t care. She’s so honest. So, now I have her looking at my dresses and listening to my music and asking ‘what do you think?’

When we were leaving the production for the last time, we were in the bathroom crying and she said, ‘I don’t mean to be rude but you really look like crap right now’. [She laughs]. I spent 30 minutes laughing after that."

What happens when you reunite with Demi after being apart?
"We run up to each other and we are so loud when we get together. We scream across the room and then run and hold each other and talk about everything at 90 miles an hour to get it all out."

True BFF?
"Yeah. It’s nice to break down and cry and have someone to do that with. She twitters me right back too. She’s the only person I can bawl my eyes out with and then end up laughing hysterically. "

What was it like to turn 13?
"I was trying to teach myself to skateboard so I could impress my crush. I was in love with Jesse McCartney at that age so all over my locker and my binder was Jesse McCartney. That was an interesting stage.

You’re very focused on all the little things that just don’t matter once you get older. I was so involved with crushes that shouldn’t even matter. They are a big deal to kids. I still have crushes but I don’t go and embarrass myself trying to skateboard in front of them! It didn’t even work!"

How did you decide which of you would play which part in PPP?
"We each auditioned for the other role actually. But, when we were testing we were like ’something doesn’t feel right. I feel like we should try it the other way’. Our instincts work pretty well together chemistry-wise, so we both felt it that we
should be in the opposite role and so it worked out."

Does Demi give you music tips?
"Demi has always been more musically involved so I kind of grew up in the studio with her and listening to all of her music. The moment that I got to play my music for her was kind of asking for approval at first.

I played her my music and ‘what’s she gonna think?’ And she loved it. She loves all my stuff. She tells me to send it so she can jam out to it. It was really nice to have her perspective on it. "

And Selenita’s advice to teen girls?

Selena Gomez lets her pearly whites shine in this new shoot from Parade magazine.

The 16-year-old actress dished to the mag about friendship, being a role model and being romantically linked to Taylor Lautner. Check it:

On embracing the role model role: “I think that its part of the job where you turn into a role model. It’s not something I aimed toward. But now that it’s kind of a title, I do embrace it, because it’s very sweet to have little girls have posters and T-shirts of you. I’m only a teenager. I’m also going to make mistakes. But I’ll try to keep those mistakes to myself.”

On her friendship with BFF Demi Lovato: “[Princess Protection Program is] about fitting in and doing the right thing. But, more important, it’s about friendships. It’s good to have a girl-empowering movie that’s fun. On tour and on our shows, we are forced to be mature. So when we get together, we’re able to be 16. We have sleepovers and do each other’s hair and makeup and all that stuff.”

On the media linking her with Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner: “I love talking about boys. I used to worry about it, but I decided that it’s wrong not to go out to eat with friends or to the movies, because people might see me. It’s exhausting to shield yourself all the time. Still, it seems that boyfriends are all people care about when they write about me.”

On a few of her favorite things: “It irritates me when people think I live such a special life and that I’m spoiled. I’m an only child, but my grandmother babysat 13 kids at once, so I grew up with a bunch of kids around me. I had lunch at Subway today. My favorite food is fried pickles at Hooters. I hate it when people don’ bother to say ‘please’ and ‘thank you,’ I’ve met the nicest people in L.A., but I’ve also met the meanest.”

On still being billed as the next Miley Cyrus: “I don’t get mad about that anymore. It kind of comes with the territory. I know there’s never ‘the next.’ You’re your own person. I’m not here to be ‘the next.’ I’m here just to be Selena. That’s it!”

THIS IS A HALF BLOOD PRINCE POST. REJOICE

Jun 20, 2009 Author: admin | Filed under: Celebrity News

Two new topics concerning the latest movie in the Harry Potter franchise aka Half Blood Prince, and some would consider these major spoilers and as such may be seen as revealing as say when Warner Brothers released all those damn clips from the film Goblet Of Fire before the film was even released. So, to which I will put these under the cut.

One concerns the excuse the British Film Classafication Board has given to the rating of the sixth film in the series which includes some really detailed descriptions of two key scenes that appeared to help sway their decision to give the film a 12A rating. These sound really promising and give me new hope in this movie and that it will be more than this damn rom-com bull crap. The next, and possibly more explosive release, is the full Tom Riddle memory scene in HBP that was shown at the recent MTV awards is now online with a slightly longer cut.

The explanation contains what some may consider as spoilers, so please click the link below to continue reading! BBFC’s rating explanation:

‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’, a fantasy adventure film based on the book of the same title, finds Harry and his friends returning to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for their sixth year. The film contains moderate threat. The moderate threat occurs in one quite scary sequence in which Harry and Professor Dumbledore are attacked by menacing looking creatures that have emerged from an underground lake. Harry is pulled into the lake and dragged beneath the water.

The scene has the potential to upset younger or more sensitive children.

In another scene Draco Malfoy kicks Harry (below screen) and appears to break his nose; blood can be seen on Harry’s face. Tables are turned later on in the film when Harry defeats Malfoy in a wand battle in the school toilets. Malfoy, who is rendered unconscious, has several bloodstains on his white shirt and his blood can be seen to mix with and cloud the water on the flooded floor. Malfoy, however, is soon completely healed by a nearby teacher.

The film contains mild language including the words ‘God’, ‘bloody’, tosser’, ’sod’, ‘hell’ and ‘git’.

The link to the said longer Tom Riddle memory scene can be found here -

I am glad that the more recent bits of news of this movie shows that the darker, more sinister elements are being kept in this film so hopefully like POA I will get the gorgeous visuals along with a more sinister and cruel edge to the proceedings. I will always lament the loss of Cuaron from the HP as imo he was the best thing that ever happened to them, but if Yates can give me something akin to it in HBP and indeed Deathly Hallows then I will be happy.

Why I Walked Out of ‘Year One’ Crying

by Victoria Jackson

I had a date with Judd Apatow. It was around 1991 and I was between husbands: the out-of-work-Jewish-Gypsy-fire-eater-musician, and the high-school-sweetheart-Baptist-helicopter-police-pilot. I needed a date to a premiere. I knew the rules of engagement for a Hollywood career, and I tried to follow them. It’s difficult to do this when you carry the burden of ethics around with you, but I tried to do it and stay within the bounds of morality.

1) Go to the right places. I went to the Playboy Mansion to find an agent, and I did. I was 21 and a Baptist virgin, and I found Betty from the William Morris commercial department there. Check.

2) Wear something provocative to a Hollywood premiere so you can get free publicity. I did that. When I was an SNL castmember trying to increase my movie roles, I attended some Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan premiere (go figure - it was a flop!) in a see-through black shirt with a flowered bra underneath. I felt ashamed, but I did get my picture in a few magazines. All press is good press, and press leads to opportunity.

3) Date famous men or up-and-coming smart Jewish comedy writers. I went on a date with Arthur Godfrey right before he died, and ten years later, when I was 30, I asked Judd Apatow to escort me to some Century City event. I was pretty much invisible to him the whole night, but we did get our picture in People Magazine.

That is about it in my list of cliché things I have done to help my career move along.

Well, today I walked out of a Judd Apatow movie crying. It was the scene where the obese homosexual is fortune-telling by looking at the bowels of a sheep that has been sodomized by a person. The movie was “Year One.” I tried to be open-minded as I watched the first 20 minutes of masturbation, fornication, circumcision jokes, continual penis references, bestiality, violence, and Biblical blasphemy. I told myself this was a PG-13 movie and the writers were “lost” so they didn’t know how vulgar they were being. I looked at the ten-year-old and his father sitting next to me. I must be old-fashioned or something. But, then I noticed no one was laughing. No one was walking out either. I was hoping that the crude jokes were flying over the heads of the poor children who were sitting there wide-eyed and innocent. My daughter is 15 and she loves Jack Black and the guy from “Juno,” so I thought we could have a Mom/teenager date. I asked myself, “Vicki, is this movie making you feel good?” Myself replied, “This movie is making me angry, very sad, hopeless, and dirty-feeling.” As the onscreen obese gay man poked at the bloody intestines and told the fifth anal sex joke, I looked at my daughter, and we got up and walked out. I started crying in the parking lot as we walked to our car. I am not from this world. I am an alien. No wonder me and Apatow never hit it off.

Hilton Family: Doug Was Riding Paris’ Coattails

Jun 20, 2009 Author: admin | Filed under: Celebrity News

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Paris Hilton’s mom isn’t losing any sleep over her daughters split from her most recent boyfriend Doug Reinhardt.

“I think Paris needs to be with someone who is a bit more mature, older and has their own thing,” Kathy Hilton told us last night at the L.A. Lakers and AEG party at Club Nokia L.A. Live.

And Mama Hilton isn’t the only member of the hotel heiress’ clan dissin’ the 23-year-old Dougster.

“The stories out there about our family not approving of their relationship are completely true,” Paris’ aunt, Kyle Richards, said. “Doug was riding Paris’ coattails.”

Richards continued, “The break-up affected me in a good way. It’s definitely time for Paris to move on.”

Doug, per his rep, declined to comment.

So what kind of guy should Ms. Paris be dating?

“He has to be a very strong, intelligent man who can handle being with her,” Richards said. “He’ll have to walk in her shadow, and it’s very hard to find someone who is comfortable in that role.”
