Dropping the latest celebrity news
They’re filming the movie “Cafe” with Jennifer Love Hewitt a block away from my house in Philadelphia, and I snagged some pictures this afternoon. They were filming mostly exterior shots from what I can tell. There were like a million people just standing around and taking up space, and a lot of parked police cars doing nothing. Very exciting. Apparently JLH is playing someone who works at this cafe where I, in reality, have worked for the past four years. The director wrote the screenplay for the movie while drinking coffee there, and it takes place in the neighborhood where I grew up (West Philadelphia, born and raised, etc.). It’s really kind of sad that this is the closest I’ll ever come to being portrayed in a movie and that the person who hypothetically plays me is Jennifer Love Hewitt. FML.
Here’s a blurb on the movie:
Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy are starring in “Cafe,” an indie drama from writer-director Marc Erlbaum.Alexa Vega, Madeline Carroll, Daniel Eric Gold and Hubble Palmer also appear as part of an ensemble of Philadelphia residents who frequent the local West Philly Grounds coffee shop where Hewitt’s character Claire works.
Sean Covel and Chris “Doc” Wyatt (”Napoleon Dynamite”) and J. Andrew Greenblatt (”Explicit Ills”) are producing. The film, which began shooting May 11 in Philadelphia, is the first production from Erlbaum’s Nationlight Prods. shingle.

They were packing up and putting their equipment in this truck.

There was a crane close to this before but I missed taking a picture of it.

A police car at the end of my block. I imagine it’s guarding off this closed off street in case a tremendous riot ensues from all the exciting things going on. Too bad there are probably only three people in the whole world who give a shit about Jennifer Love Hewitt and her beau.

This is a photo of Hewitt on set (not my photo). Presumably, this is what cafe employees look like.

A photo of me looking at that police car pictured above, or a photo of what a real cafe employee looks like.
My coworker, who makes all the sandwiches and crap that we sell, was emailed by Jennifer Love Hewitt’s people last week about the dietary specifications that she follows so that he could make her a specially designed lunch today. Unfortunately, he insisted that he wasn’t allowed to tell me what the specifications were, so I don’t even have anything juicy to give you guys. As you can see, this was the most boring post on ever.
